I thought I'd check the air filter on my Address, but fell foul of an issue that should have been sorted by all motorcycle manufacturers years ago.
I remember with my Triumphs and Nortons the hassle of getting the timing cover off when the Philips screws got corroded in situ. It was a case of drilling the head of the screw(s) removing the cover, then getting a Mole wrench onto to the protruding bit of screw.
I have had motorcycles all my life, since I passed my test in 1965 on a Lambretta LD150. Since then I've had Triumphs. Nortons, Hondas, Royal Enfields, a Kawasaki, and a BMW. I still have the BMW.
My main two wheeler now is my Suzuki Address 110. Maybe it's because I have always had bigger bikes, that I keep looking at other bikes that I would like. The Royal Enfield Hunter is the main contender.
I am really enjoying the Address, so I was thinking of getting another more powerful scooter.
But I think my strive for simplicity debars most, or maybe all, of the offers open. I really don't want water cooling, with the inevitable addition of a water pump, a thermostat, a radiator, water pipes, coolant, and the associated extra weight, maintenance and potential reliability problems.

I picked it up this morning and rode the long way home along the Cornish north coast.
Never having rode a "twist and go" scooter before it was quite an experience, but I soon got used to it. Things to remember:-

SO - I came to Cornwall with two motorbikes which had stood unused and decaying away in the garage in Scotland for over 10 years. The Honda Deauville would not start (with an external car battery of course) so it was pushed into the van. The BMW R65LS started straight away and I rode it into the van.
